Who May Attend Joyful Again!

Men and women of all ages who have lost a spouse through death are welcome to attend a Joyful Again! weekend program.  However, persons are encouraged to wait at least four months after the death before attending in order to allow time for some of the initial shock to lessen.  There is no time limitation and persons may attend even if it has been years since the death.

Though there is a religious basis to the presentations, persons of any religious affiliation are welcome to attend.

What Happens At Joyful Again!

The two-day program is divided into six segments.  Each segment consists of a 20-30 minute video presentation, followed by private journaling and then small group sharing.

This process allows the participants to reflect on the pain they have experienced and then move from isolation to community and to focusing on the future.  Some prayer services are part of the program's healing process, but attendance is optional.

Trained facilitators who have been widowed themselves help with the weekend and lead the discussion.
